This campaign is raising funds for 13 adults and 7 children in Gaza as well as 4 adults and 1 child displaced in Egypt.

Hala and Mazen are a young couple from Gaza who, in 2023, had their first baby, Mohammed. Unfortunately, Hala and Mazen lost him only a few months later, as he became sick and they were unable to get him the medical care he needed in Gaza.

During the current aggression on Gaza, Hala and Mazen’s house was destroyed and they were separated from the rest of their families in the North and displaced to Rafah, while still grieving their child and expecting another. In May 2024, they were displaced once again as an aggression on Rafah began, and during the displacement, Hala tragically suffered a miscarriage after four months of pregnancy.

Since then, Hala and Mazen have been displaced even more times, and reunited with some of Mazen’s family. Hala has also been helping take care of Jourie, a little girl of one year and a half who lost her parents.

On top of this, Hala volunteers almost every day with children of different ages. She helps them learn to write and practice their English, as well as plan fun activities for them, like face painting or playing music for them.

The whole family is suffering due to malnutrition and exhaustion, which in some cases has worsened pre-existing conditions. This is the case with Mazen’s father, who suffers from a heart condition, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as Hala, who was never able to receive the appropriate medical care after her miscarriage.

In July 2025, Mazen attempted to secure aid at a GHF site out of desperation, and was carried back by his friends, with fractured ribs and without any aid. Since then, his health has significantly worsened.

Hala’s parents and three of her siblings, who she had been separated from in October, were able to evacuate to Egypt before the border closed. Since then, Hala has been helping her parents in taking care of her siblings, by using some of the funds she raises to pay for their rent and support them with her siblings’ education costs.

How will the funds be used?

The goal is to raise enough funds to ensure that Hala, Mazen and their families can afford necessities for 6 months.

Raising EUR 140,000 will ensure that Hala, Mazen and their families in Gaza can afford necessities such as food, water, transportation, shelter upkeep, hygiene products and urgent medical care, as well as rent and education support for Hala’s family in Egypt.

This amount also includes platform fees and transfer fees. In Gaza, those can be even higher than 50%.

How will Hala receive the funds?

The funds will be received by Hala’s brother, Walid, who currently lives in Germany. He will then transfer funds to her in Gaza and to his parents in Egypt.

Note:

This campaign was previously on GoFundMe, from February 2024 to August 2025. It has now been moved to Chuffed, as it is a more secure platform for fundraising for Palestinians in Gaza.

Hello all friends. How are you? I hope you are well.

The situation Hala is living in is devastating. The pain is continuous. They are suffering terribly from hunger, thirst and disease. Every day they are left alive by chance. Hala thought it was possible to get used to the pain and hunger. She thought her body would get used to the suffering and move on out of love for her family but unfortunately this is not the case. In addition to worrying about the people she loves, there are the pangs of hunger, a dry throat from thirst and illness. The body eaten by insects.

How can all this be happening?

I ask myself this every day. I have no answers. Only so much pain. There is no habit of this immense pain, the pain must be accepted and turned into action to help those who survive. Let us not get used to the tears and suffering of our friend Hala. Let us continue to support her until this horror ends

Thank you all
